When did Pakistan join the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation)?

  1. 1969
  2. 1970
  3. 1971
  4. 1972

Explanation:

A fire was ignited in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on 21 August 1969 which destroyed part of the old wooden roof and an 800-year-old pulpit. In response, the former Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, condemned the arson as a “Jewish crime” and called upon for all Muslim heads of state to convene a summit.

As a result, the first OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) conference was held in Rabat, Morocco, on 25 September 1969, in response to the arson attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Pakistan was among the founding members who attended and supported the establishment of the OIC.
